텔레비전 뉴스의 성 역학구도 재생산 보도관행과 저널리스트의 성차 = KBS, MBC, SBS의 저녁종합뉴스 내용분석

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 우리나라 지상파 방송의 대표적인 텔레비전 뉴스가 사회의 성 역학구도를 어떻게 일상적으로 재생산하는지 분석하려 한다. 재현된 취재원의 이미지 묘사와 관련된 뉴스내용의 분석에 초점을 맞추되, 그런 이미지 표상을 유발하는 취재보도관행의 특성과 관행의 실천방식에 주목한다. 특히 뉴스제작과정에서 저널리스트의 성차가 어떻게 언론계의 취재원 이용관행과 상호작용하는지 그 기제를 밝히는데 관심을 둔다. 앵커와 기자의 역할, 보도영역의 할당, 취재원 선택과 취재경로의 활용방식, 취재원의 역할과 재현방식 등 취재보도관행의 일상적 실천이라는 측면에서, 뉴스제작시 남녀 저널리스트간에 어떤 차이점과 유사점이 나타나는지 텔레비전 뉴스를 내용분석한다. 뉴스내용과 제작면에서 저널리스트의 성차가 성 역학구도의 재생산에 어떤 의미를 지니는지 논의한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article examines the relationship between coverage routines of gender reproduction and journalists' gender difference in the Korean network television news. Especially, the focus of content analysis is on revealing the mechanism of symbolic annihilation of female in which women are underrepresented and their images are biased by the journalistic routines like source use and information channel selection. Research findings show that 1) the images of women sources are marginalized, 2) an asymmetric gender system in the broadcast news organization is collectively reproduced in the line of gender difference of journalists through the everyday news production process, and 3) the social contact of reporters and sources alienates female in the social construction of news realities in terms of power relation. The implications of gender difference in the news representation and production are discussed in the context of the agenda-building process of television news.
