발달장애아동 어머니의 우울과 배우자 지지 = Depression of Mothers of children with developmental disorder and Spouse Support

국문 초록 (Abstract)

장애 아동의 어머니가 정상아동의 어머니보다 우울을 경험할 가능성이 높다는 것은 명백하다. 그런데, 사회적 지지는 우울을 감소시키는 것으로 알려져 있으며, 배우자는 사회적 지지원의 일부로서 매우 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 발달장애아동 어머니의 우울에 배우자의 지지가 구체적으로 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보았다. 조사대상자는 서울시에 소재한 2개의 재활병원에서 치료를 받고 있는 발달장애아동의 어머니 79명이며, 유의표집방법에 의하여 선정되었다.
연구결과, 배우자의 지지가 높을수록 발달장애아동 어머니의 우울이 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 배우자 지지의 모든 하위 차원 즉, 정서적 지지, 정보적 지지, 물질적 지지 및 평가적 지지 등이 우울을 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 배우자의 지지는 우울의 모든 하위차원 즉, 부정적 태도, 수행상의 어려움 및 신체적 증상 등을 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 발달장애아동의 가족을 위한 사회사업 실천현장에서 평가(assessment)와 개입(intervention)의 이론적 근거로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Mothers of children with developmental disorder may experience depression. On the other hand, social support is blown to have effect on reducing depression, and spouse is one of the social support resources. In this regard, this study was conducted to review how spouse support has effect on depression of mothers of children with developmental disorder. The elements of this study are 79 mothers of children with developmental disorder treated at two rehabilitation centers in Seoul, and they were selected from purposive sampling.
The study showed that depression of mothers of children with developmental disorder was reduced while spouse support was increased, and all the subelements of spouse support such as emotional support, information support, instrumental support, appraisal support are proved to reduce depression, and spouse support is proved to reduce negative attitudes, performance difficulty, and physical elements.
This study will be used for assessment and intervention for clients in social work practice setting. Since major limitations come from generalizability in this study, more study need to be followed.
