음악 학습이 초등학생의 일반 창의성 신장에 미치는 효과 = The effects of music learning in enhancing general creativity of elementary students

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 음악 학습이 초등학생의 일반 창의성을 신장시키는가를 검증하고자 하였다. 체계적인 음악 학습을 받는 실험집단과 그렇지 않은 통제집단을 대상으로 하여, 결과 평가로서 TTCT 및 PT 창의성 표준화 검사와 과정 평가로서 관찰 및 면담을 실시하였다. 그 결과 음악 학습은 초등학생의 인지적 측면에서의 창의성 신장에 효과적이었다. 그리고 음악 학습을 통한 인성적 측면에서의 창의성 신장에 관한 실증적 검증은 나타나지 않았지만, 과정에 대한 관찰 및 면담 결과를 통해 향상 가능성을 살펴볼 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to apply music learning to elementary students and to examine its effects in enhancing general creativity; Is music learning effective in enhancing cognitive and personality traits of creativity in elementary school students? Creativity-related literature was reviewed on two aspects: 1) on its cognitive traits, focusing on fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration; 2) on its personality traits such as independence, risk-taking, persistence and openness. Music learning was applied to fifth grade students for a period of six months. To examine its effects, two creativity tests of TTCT and PT were carried out. Observations and interviews were also implemented.
The results of the study are as follows. First, music learning demonstrated great effectiveness in enhancing cognitive traits of creativity. But among cognitive traits, elaboration was shown to display a higher level of enhancement given that music learning was applied for an extended period of time. Second, music learning showed slight effectiveness in enhancing personality traits of creativity. Although the analyzed results from PT were not significant in enhancing personality traits of creativity, music learning, through observations and interviews, showed promising possibility in enhancing these traits.
This study plays a significant role in having examined the effects of music learning with respect to the confluence approach of cognitive and personality traits in creativity.
