The purpose of this study was (1) to examine the independent influences of variables related to marital stability, (2) to investigate how barrier and altermative influence the relationship between marital satisfaction and marital stability and (3) to classify the marriage type of marital satisfaction and materital stability.
Data collected on 180 mem and women within 5 years of marital duration.
Major findings were follows :
1. Marital stability was influenced by marital satisfaction, not by barrier and alternative.
2. Altermative was positively associated with the relationship strength between marital satisfaction and martial stability.
3. The most marriage type was high satisfaction and high stability(typeⅠ). In turn, marriage types were low satisfaction and high stability (type Ⅳ), low satisfaction and low stability(type Ⅲ), high satisfaction and low stability (type Ⅱ).
