교육 연구에서 질적 접근의 논리와 방법 = The Logic and Method of Qualitative Research in the Study of Education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

교육은 오랜 시간 동안 진행되고, 참여자들의 역사적 배경에 의해 영향을 받고, 참여자들과 환경의 상호 작용이라는 맥락 속에서 진행되고, 참여자들에 의해 구성되고, 많은 어려움이 수반되며, 무엇보다도 참여자들의 열정에 의해 지속되는 활동이다. 이러한 교육의 성격을 드러내야 하는 교육 연구에서 질적 접근은 필연적인 것이다. 질적 접근에서는 내부자의 관점을 중시하며, 연구의 전 과정에 대한 끊임없는 반성적 사고를 요청한다. 그리고, 질적 접근은 연구자에게는 체험 학습의 과정이다. 이것은 질적 접근이 '일상적 경험의 정교화' 논리에 기초하고 있다는 것을 말해 준다. 질적 접근에 의한 연구는 자료 수집, 분석, 해석의 세 측면으로 구분된다. 이것은 자료 수집, 분석, 해석이 순환되고 있어서 단계로 구분되지 않는 특성에 따른 것이다. 본 논문에서는 필자의 연구 경험을 토대로 교육 연구에서 질적 접근의 필요성, 그 논리와 방법을 고찰하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this study an attempt has been made to examine the significance of qualitative approaches in educational research and to set up the logic and method of these approach. The following aspects have been taken into account: education is ①a long-term performed activity, ②an activity to be influenced by the participant's historical background, ③an activity understood in the context of the interaction of participants and environment, ④an activity defined in terms of the participant's conducts, ⑤an activity in many kinds of difficulties, and ⑥an activity accompanying with the participant's passions.
In the light of these aspects, the educational research requires not only qualitative methods but also three logics as follows: ①the insider's point of view, ②the reflective thinking required through the whole process of research, and ③the learning process of all kinds that the researcher can experience.
The qualitative research is composed of the data-collection, the analysis and the interpretation of them. These three are regarded the feed-back processing respectively.
