The purpose of this study is to testify whether divergent questions among the questioning types influence on language expression and thinking ability of young children. The subjects of study were 40 five-year-old children in Y kindergarten located in Nowon-gu, Seoul. Two groups, each of 20 children, were chosen from 40 children. One group were asked of divergent type questions as the experimental group, and the other group were asked of convergent type as the comparative group. The experiment had, been conducted as much 10 times main tests in total, twice per week. As a results, statistically, there were no meaningful difference of young children`s language expression ability and thinking ability between the experimental group and the comparative group. However, in the interaction between the teacher and the children, we could find that the children in the experimental group gradually increased the number of new words and sentences, adding a new word, and showed diverse and abundant expression in the content. They expressed divergent way of thinking and used reasoning power about a given situation improved.
