다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this paper is to explore why women elder abuse is more serious problem in Korea. To understand for women elder abuse, this study approaches following five theoretical perspectives; theory of ageism, theory of symbolic interaction, the theory of pathology, the developmental theory and exchange theory. Also this study suggests the structure of women elderly problems in Korea; individual factors, socio-cultual factors and political factors. There are a bad cycle model in the women elder abuse; poverty cycle, complicated with a variety of factors in sacrificed relationship with own their family. It was not easy to say the cause of women elder abuse in Korea. Even though it`s not easy to intervene women elder abuse in Korea, our society must do it step by step from keeping individual right for women elderly person to intervene and treat for victim of elder abuse. First of all, government intervention must do that is based on the individuals right to remain in their chosen environment.
