제주도 하가리 마을의 생태학적 공간구조 = The Ecological Village Space Strcture of Hagari in Chejudo

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The goal of this article is to examine the contents and characteristics of the village space of Hagari in Chejudo and what is the meaning of its aim and utilize it as local materials by photo-materializing. Unlike recently built villages, Hagari has a village space structure based on Korean traditional location plan. As a result of focusing on a space for satisfaction of desire for material gain, most of today`s villages take a type of western oriented macro space which emphasizes the aspect of convenience and practical use. Therefore, the space is uniform and standardized regardless of the natural scene. In contrast, since Hagari is based on our traditional space structure emphasizing the union of nature and human being rather than their distortion and destruction is represented on its space structure. Second, inhabitants in Hagari do not describe this space view with philosophical theories and concepts which are familiar with us. In that they have been applying their experience acquired by adjusting themselves to natural and cultural environment to village space, however, it can be said that Hagari provides us with a clue which can reveal the background behind the basic-level culture of Chejudo.
