This study aimed to provide the four dilemma story discussions to third grade children in an attempt to find the effects upon the chidren's development of moral judgement and social perspective taking ability. 120 third grade children were divided into experimental praise, and control groups, and treated for the period of 8 weeks. These different groups were confirmed to be homogeneous groups through the pretest procedure. The effects of dilemma story discussions were also confirmed by means of post test.
The effects of dilemma story discussions upon the moral judgment and the perspective taking ability were found to be significantly greater to the experimental troup, compared to the praise group and the control group.
In the aspects of moral judgment, perspective taking and the effect perception of dilemma story siscussion, the sex and age differences were not found.
This study also carried qualitative analyses of the contents of dilemma story discussions, in order to show the internal processes of the participants in the development of moral judgment, and perspective taking ability. The results of these qualitative analyses reveal that, with the cumulative increases of frequency in dilemma story discussions, the levels of moral judgment and social perspectuve taking ability were rasied higher.
