The author surveyed 50 patients who visited in Y university hospital in Seoul for the main reason of halitosis from Jan. 2nd, 2001 by Apr. 10th, 2001 and 50 ordinary people.
Such informations for the discoveries of the relation through the amount of salivary secretion, the condition of oral care and the malodor were examined to acquire basic materials for oral care promotion.

2. The degree of VSC for halitosis patients was surveyed
approximated 1.5 times higher by average 109.54±101.80ppb than 73.06±30.36ppb in ordinary people and meaningful difference was also represented statistically (p=0.0183).
3. The amount of salivary secretion for ordinary people was surveyed approximately 2 times higher by average 7.61±1.99ml/10min than the degree for halitosis patients average 3.02 ± 2.61ml/10min and meaningful difference was also indicated statistically(p=0.0001).
4. The amount of salivary secretion relatively to the halitosis was surveyed low in showing the degree of VSC high(p=0.0001).
