    The purpose of this study was to grope for an operating strategy for work-based learning programs(WBLPs) that offer the work-site experience activities to elementary school students. The study was carried out through the review of literature and the survey. Questionnaires were mailed to 430 teachers of 43 schools which were selected by the purposive sampling method, and 231 questionnaires were collected and analyzed. The major findings of the study through the survey were as follows: To make students understand a world of work and occupation properly, WBLPs in elementary schools are required. To operate WBLPs effectively, it is necessary to link WBLPs to the National Curriculum, especially the subject such as the practical arts that is deeply related to the awareness and the exploration of a world of work and occupation. The work-site field trips activity is the most compatible alternative of work-site experience activities in elementary schools. In addition, some problems such as the difficulties related to selecting the appropriate places for experiential learning and the deficiency of various WBLPs should be solved. Based on the results of the study, recommendations for following studies were suggested.
