중학교 과학 영재와 일반 학생의 과학적 태도에 관한 연구 = Research Articles : Study on the Attitude toward Science of Science Gifted and Talented and General Middle School Students

The objective of this study is to investigate the attitude levels of science gifted and talented(G/T), and general middle school students toward science, and to suggest educational implication for the improvement of science education and science G/T education. The inventory instrument used for study was a revision of TOSRA which consisted of six domains containing 51 items, and Likert scale(1∼5). Subjects were 131 science G/T and 233 general students. Science G/T students were the 8th graders who had entered into Center for Science G/T Education, Seoul National University in 1999, and general students were the 8th graders who were in school in Seoul. There was significant difference between science G/T and general students. And, male students, both science G/T and general, had higher level of attitude toward science than female students. Thus, it is necessary not only to provide social and national encouragement for science G/T students, but to develope special programs for them so as to help them achieve their dreams and to contribute to scientific development of nations. Also, it. needs to develope science teaching-learning programs for female students.
