This study ascertains the levels of teachers` awareness and implementation as well as difficulties encountered in the use of `the Guide for Educational Activities and Materials for kindergarten` ( Ministry of Education, 1996), the level of use of the guide, and the type of obstacles to its use, and the degree of hindrance those obstacles pose. Subjects were 581 teachers in public and private kindergartens in Taijon and Chungbuk province in Korea. The instrument used for this study was a questionnaire developed by researchers. Collected data were analyzed by a frequency, one-way ANOVA, Regression Analysis and Duncan test. The findings of the study are as follows: 1. The kindergarten teachers showed the 3-levels(generally well) of concern and scored at the middle level on their use of the Guide for Educational Activities and Materials for Kindergarten. 2. There are significant differences between the obstacle factors and the degree of hindrance in using the Guide for Educational Activities and Materials for Kindergarten according to teachers` demographic variables.
