The recent discussion of `character-education` or `education of human nature` is based, mainly, on the psychological, factual conception of human nature, rather than philosophical, logical conception of human nature. As a result, human nature is recognized as the `disjunction` of different psychological elements or personality-traits, and education is recognised as a means to develop and integrate each of different psychological element or personalty-trait together. But, in view of philosophical conception of human nature, the relation of human nature and education can be understood differently. In this view, human nature is recognized as `conjunction` of different aspect of human nature, and education is recognized as the betterment of level or quality of human nature of one`s own person. Closely related with the above, there is another conception of human nature, which picks up th norm and manner of education. It is the concept of human nature which is elucidated in The Doctrine of Mean [中庸] . According to The Doctrine of Mean, human nature designates the ideal image of man which is presupposed in the very act of educating, and education is the serious human activity in which the ideal image of man is embodied and realized, `here and now`, and naturally. In this case, the concept of human nature and education is not related as a `means-end relation`, but as a `logical or conceptual relation`. In a word, any discussion of human nature must be based on the concept of education, and can be meaningfully interpreted in the context of education.
