비가비 광대의 존재 양상과 판소리사적 의의

‘Bi-ga-bi’ clowns were from common people not shamans. This article aims to illuminate what is a background of Bi-ga-bi clowns’ appearance and what is their activity aspect and what is significance in Pan-so-ri history.
Pan-so-ri singers have many different names according to their competence or origin. For instance, ‘Ddo-rang’ clown, ‘Hwa-cbo’ clown, ‘Jae-dam’ clown, ‘A-ni-ri’ clown, ‘expert singer’ clown, expert singer clown who performed in front of king, etc. This state that all kinds of clowns were not called simply ‘singer’ clowns but their names were divided variously, was derived from a process that established and subdivided the aesthetic eyes on Pan-so-ri.
Someone who didn’t join in perform but they appreciated plays with a critical eyes and indulged in romantic pursuits was called ‘Han-Ryang’. Among them, some people took part in perform and then they became Bi-ga-bi clowns. It was true that their artistic abilities were lacked rather than Jae-dam clowns’ came from shamans. However, it is necessary to investigate their activities and deal with their gravity in Pan-so-ri history.
Today, the fundamental problem on Pan-so-ri is how it could be established as live art has an autogenous basement, without protection of institutional device. There is reason to be asked for new Pan-so-ri’s appearance. New Pan-so-ri might encounter reality and evoke public response. Therefore, Bi-ga-bi clowns could play an important role in solving this problem The time that Pan-so-ri resurge as live art will come when consciousness of Bi-ga-bi clowns meets singer clowns’s professional capacities.
Bi-ga-bi clowns contributed to compose Sasul lyrics or established it’s theories and it has great significances in Pan-so-ri history.
