IMF 경제위기 이후 실업자들의 재취업 결정요인 = Determinants of the Transition to Reemployment of the Employed after the IMF Crisis

This paper is designed to find out the determinants of the transition to reemployment of the unemployed after the IMF crisis in 1997. The major findings of this paper are shown in the institutional factors. To begin with, private transfer had a huge negative effect on the transition to reemployment of the unemployed, but public transfer programs did not in Korea, which reflects the vulnerability of Korean public transfer systems. Next, the job training programs which the Korean government promoted after IMF crisis, had not proven its effectiveness. Last, the effect of the unemployment benefits on the transition to reemployment is indeterminate, because there are too many right-censored observations to get the information about the unemployment spell.
