다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract) kakao i 다국어 번역

This study critiquely reviewed 46 leadership articles published in Korea over the last 30 years. Three different types of review methods were employed including descriptive analysis, theme/theory-focused investigation, and analysis on historical patterns of leadership research in Korea. As a result of analyses, it was found that, despite the mere amount of leadership studies, research on leadership in Korea has been quite active in producing meaningful outcomes. Although there were results comparable to those uncovered in American studies, some unique results were also noteworthy. Situational effects, for one, were not so strong as what so-called situational theorists had proposed, but instead leaders` styles, behaviors, or charisma showed stronger direct effects on outcomes across different contingent situations. In addition, Korean managers and executives believed that leaders should be paternalistic, caring for employees, and human-centered. In terms of a trend in leadership research in Korea, more emphasis is now being placed on empirical pieces, methodologically getting more rigorous. Relying on more than one source of data is now common in Korea, along with frequent uses of stricter (and more appropriate) statistical techniques. Other important findings and future directions of leadership research in Korea were discussed.
