일본어로 편찬된 우리 나라 최초의 초등과학교과서 = Science Text Book for Elementary School Compiled for The First Time in Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this treatise this author studied the origin of education for elementary science in Korea and process of development and social background of `Science Text` (1908) for elementary school published for the first time in the nation. The result of this research showed that education of elementary science subject in Korea started from 1895 in tearms of official system but actually its implementation began with proclamation of `Decree for Elementary School` in 1906. To this end `Science Text` was published by the office of education and it was compiled purely in Japanese language and in connection with editing the above mentioned text it was revealed that concerned policy was different from that of Ministry of Education, Japan. Additionally result of tracing related data with compilation of `Science Text` revealed that there is a definite possibility of involvement of Shitehara Tahira, Official for Education Affairs and Takahashi Touru, the Part-Time Official for Compilation at that time.
