The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between learning styles and academic achievement of high school and university students by glades and sex.
The rressearch hypotheses were fottnulated as follows :
1. There will be a significant difference in the level of learning styles by grades.
2. There will be a significant sex difference in the level of learning styles.
3. There will be significant and positive relationship between learning styles and school achievement.
The subject of the study were 100 high school students and 99 university students in Pusan. The instrument measuring learning styles was the Inventory of Learning Processes developed by Schrneck et al.
The major findings were as follows :
First, there was a significant difference in the deep level between high school and university students. Second, there was no sex difference in the levels of learning styles, Third, there were positive correlations between deep learning style and achievement in, high school students, and there were positive correlations between methodical learning style and achievement in university students.
In conclusion, levels of learning styles are influenced by development and they can influence on learning process and achievement.
