The purpose of this study were to develop and evaluate family life education program for the middle-aged and older. This program was grounded in the current gerontological research; topics such as health difficulties, financial affairs, isolations, and the loss of role need to be incorporated into programs for middle-aged and older. So, this program was composed of four 2-hour sessions; health care, enhancing relationships with spouses and children, financial planning, and the use of leisure time. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated by taking pretest and posttest. Overall, the participants rated the program as helpful. The middle-aged and older also reported making significant improvements in their attitudes and behaviors of preparation toward later life.
