지역사회폭력에 노출된 청소년의 특성 및 평가모형 개발을 위한 탐색적 연구 = An exploratory study on the characteristics of youths exposed to community violence and an assessment model

In our society, many youths are exposed to serious violence in their community. Youths who are exposed to violence are deeply affected by the experience. Besides the physical injury, the social and psychological impact associated with varying degrees of exposure to violence for youths is becoming apparent. However, little systematic research has been focused on attending to youths` experience with community violence. This article describes the extent to which youths are exposed to various forms of violence as either victims or witnesses and examines the consequences of community violence in the lives of youths. This article also suggest a framework of the assessment model for conceptualizing and understanding community violence exposure. Directions for the further research are outlined.
