The purposes of the study were to identify variables affecting mental health and the correlations between mental health and psychological variables. 2,124 adolescents randomly selected from junior high and high schools in Seoul were surveyed. 4 Korean-version instruments were used to identify mental health and psychological variables of adolescents. Results indicated that there were significant relationships between mental health and the selected psychological variables. This study provides significant information for the relatively unstudied Korean adolescents. For Korea, this study has the potential to influence the development of better mental health education programs for adolescents.
