This paper aims to analyze the semantic structures of some nouns, verbs and texts based on frame semantics. Frame semantics is developed from the need to investigate the linguistic phenomena within the larger conceptual or cognitive structure into which several concepts are integrated. Frame semantics was originally based on Fillmore`s works. His frame semantics is static in that meanings of linguistic units are characterized and understood in terms of frames evoked by the linguistic units. However, frame semantics as I say is dynamic in that meanings of linguistic units are characterized and understood through imposition of profile on some frame elements of the whole frame evoked by the linguistic units. In other words, now frame semantics is the combination of frame and profiling. In chapter 2, I introduce schema, image schema, scenarios, scripts as well as Fillmore`s frame. And I deal with what relation frame semantics have with cognitive linguistics and how it differs from theory of semantic field. In chapter 3, I explain the way frame semantics equipped with profiling characterizes the semantic structure of nouns, verbs, and texts.
