전자정부 구현을 위한 경찰정보화의 현황과 과제 = Policy suggestions on the Police Informatization in the era of E - Government

Informatization is one of major policy tools to enhance national competitiveness and quality of life. Korea government is making best efforts on constructing e-government with a vision of creative knowledge-based society. National Police Agency (NPA) is one of the leading ministries in the public sector informatization. Cyber Police Agency was introduced in 2000. The purpose of this paper is to examine police information systems, police information organizations, and the level of police informatization, and to suggest policy directions for establishing e-police. The result of the analysis is that NPA has made major achievements in introducing information systems for major police works, and providing police services electronically. But it still needs more efforts in clarifying the vision of e-police, implementing Information Strategic Planning (ISP), introducing knowledge management, and enhancing information mind of policemen.
