한글의 특성에 따른 한글 해독 지도 방법 탐색 = The characteristics of decoding process in the reading of Korean scripts, Hangul and teaching method for fostering of learning to decode

국문 초록 (Abstract)

읽기에서 해독 기술은 매우 중요한 기술이다. 해독은 문자 언어의 체계나 유아 개인의 인지적 능력의 차이에 따라 그 발달 양상이 다르게 나타난다. 특별히, 문자 언어의 체계는 해독 과정의 방식에 중요한 변인이다. 한글은 세계의 어떤 글에서도 찾아 볼 수 없는 독특한 특성을 지니고 있다. 한글의 특성에 맞는 해독 지도 방법을 찾아내는 것이 본 고의 목적이었다. 이런 목적을 위하여, 먼저 한글의 특성을 고찰했고, 한국 유아의 해독 과정을, 해독의 발달 과정과 사용하는 해독 책략에 대한 개인적 관찰을 통하여, 영어권 아동의 해독 과정과 비교했다. 그리고 이 과정에서 사용하는 해독 책략들을 중심으로 해독 지도의 방법들에 대한 제안을 했다.

Decoding skills are essential components of reading processes. Children's decoding skills reveal various developmental variants depending upon the structure of the written language and their individual cognitive abilities as well. The structure of the written language especially influences as an important factor on the ways children processes the language to decode. In teaching the decoding skills to children, the teaching methods should be based, among other things, on the structures of the language children learn. 'Hangul', the Korean written language has, in many respects, its own unique characteristics compared to the other language in the world. With respect to decoding, this paper intended to analyze the structural characteristics of Hangul and on the basis of them, develop proper methods for teaching.
