초임 중등체육교사의 교직 적응과정 = The Process of Beginning Physical Education Teacher`s Adjustment Teaching Job

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 4명의 중등 초임체육교사들의 교직 적응과정을 이해하려는 사례연구로, 연구 참여자들이 현장에서 겪는 교직수행의 과정을 구체적이며 심층적인 시각에서 바라볼 수 있도록 질적 연구방법은 사용하였다. 이을 위해 수업관찰, 심층면담, 각종 문서자료을 수집하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 연구 참여자들은 교직에 대한 뚜렷한 역할인식과 교직관은 가지고 교직을 선택하지는 않는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 교직에 대한 확고한 신념과 교직관이 형성되지 않은 상태에서 교직수행은 하게 됨으로써 어려움에 부딪힐 경우, 교직에 대한 막연한 기대와 환상이 깨어지기도 하고, 현실적인 여건에 따라 교직관을 새롭게 형성 혹은 변화시켜 나가고 있었다. 시간이 지날수록 융통성과 관리기술이 신장되었으며, 경우에 따라 수업의 현상유지의 양상도 나타났다. 대부분의 연구참여 교사들이 조직에서의 인간관계를 교직적응에 있어서 중요한 요소로 생각하고 있었으며, 때때로 자신들의 신념과 가치관에는 위배되나 기존의 체제에 순응하는 전략적 순응의 양상을 나타내기도 하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the process of adaptation of four beginning teachers in physical education at selected middle schools. Qualitative research methods with in-depth interviews, participant observation, and collection of documents were employed to describe and analyze data so as to be viewed from more multi-dimensional ang1es. As the result of the investigation it was revealed that the participants did not choose teaching job in accordance with clear role reco81ition and teaching philosophy. In consequence, it happened that the beginning teachers began their teaching even before they had some established firm belief about teaching job or philosophy. Accordingly, when they met any unexpected problem situations, their expectation and dream of ideal education would easily break and as a result they would devise a new philosophy or change their view into a more realistic one. As time went on, there appeared a tendency of flexibility and improving management skill and also in rare cases, a certain teachers came to be negligible in preparing teaching subject matter. Most of the participants thought the human relationship in the organization to be an important factor in the process of their adjusting teaching job and assumed an aspect of strategic compliance in which they adjust themselves to the existing system though they have countering view with regard to their belief or sense of value.
