장애아동 어머니의 정신건강 증진을 위한 집단프로그램의 효과 연구 = A Study on the Group Program Development for the Enhancement of Mental Health of the Mothers with Children with Disabilities - Focusing on the enhancement of self esteem and decrease of depression

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 선행연구를 통해 지속적으로 제기되어 온 장애아동 어머니의 정신 건강 문제에 개입하는 집단프로그램을 개발하고 그 효과성을 검증하고자 한 것이다. 본 연구에서는 장애아동 어머니의 만성적 스트레스에서 비롯되는 무기력과 우울을 감소하기 위해서는 이러한 부정적인 정서에 영향을 미치는 자존감을 향상하는 개입을 통해 정신건강을 증진하여야 한다고 보았다. 이를 위해 선행연구의 검토를 기초로, 정신건강 증진의 하위요소로 장애아동 어머니의 자존감 향상을 설정하였고, 부차적으로 본 프로그램 종결 이후 자발적 지지집단 형성의 기초 마련 여부를 보고자 하였다. 조사설계는 실험통제집단 전후비교설계로서 실험집단은 9명, 통제집단은 8명으로 각각 프로그램 실시 사전과 사후 검사를 비교 분석하였다. 연구분석 결과, 실험과 통제집단의 사전과 사후검사결과가 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보여, 본 집단프로그램의 효과성이 입증되었다. 또한 본 프로그램 종결 3주 후의 사후모임에서는 자발적인 지지집단 형성을 결의하여, 본 프로그램이 장애아동 어머니의 자존감을 향상시킴으로써 결과적으로 정신건강 증진에 효과적이었던 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 장애아동 어머니의 정신건강 증진을 위한 집단 프로그램의 내용, 운영형태 및 전략 등을 구체적이고 실용적으로 제시하여 그 효과성을 검증하였다는 측면에서 장애인복지실천에의 함의와 기여가 크다고 생각된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The goals of this study is group Program development for enhancement of Mental Health of the Mothers with Children with Disabilities. Many studies have reported the multiple problems of those mothers such as high stress level, low self esteem, lack social support networks, deep depression form chronic burdens of care and impossibility of prognosis. Many studies report that mothers of children with disabilities have weak mental health problems especially on the low self esteem and depression. It is evaluated that group program approach is effective to solve the problems due to the lack of resources, self-confidence, self-efficacy like those mothers` problems in U.S.A. The method of this is a pre-post test control group design and for the testing of effectiveness, Mann-Whitney U Test & Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test are used. The main findings of this study are as fallows. 1. Development of the group program for the enhancement of self esteem and depression for mothers of children with disabilities. 2. In regard to program effectiveness, the pre & post test showed that self-esteem improved in a statistically meaningful way, and depression decrease in a statistically meaningful way. So, the grroup program is effective for enhancement of mental health of the mothers of children with disabilities. 3. For the group approach the resources and information giving should be emphasized. This study implies to social work practice for the mothers of children with disabilities.
