      The purpose of this study is that to confirm the issues of elementary school geography curriculum and to find an alternative plan about that. The issues of the curriculum was shown in the side of the scope and the sequence. We can see two points in the scope of the curriculum. First of all, the school geography has stagnated. Secondly, it is unclear for us to accept about a basis of selection for contents. The solution to these are suggested as follows. One of the settlements is to develop the national geography curriculum. Another of them is to strengthen a geographical approach of a social studies curriculum. Andwe can also find two issues in the sequence of the curriculum. One is how to match the expanding environment principle with the spiral curriculum. Another one is the problems between the critic and the defender of the expanding environment principle. The solution to these problems were tried to find by arranging an extent of contents consistently in the whole school year. Also they were tried to find by applying the expanding environment principle elastically.
