국문 초록 (Abstract)

결혼만족도는 ‘사회적 맥락 속에 존재하는 개인이 부부라는 이자적 관계에서 느끼는 주관적 선호’로 정의된다. 본 연구는 결혼만족도를 연구함에 있어서 여성의 경제참여에 따라 가정과 직장에서 경험하는 사회적 맥락의 변화, 성에 따라 각기 다르게 작용하는 요인들의 효과, 관계성이라는 과정적 요소, 그리고 개인이 아닌 부부단위에서 요인들의 상대적 의미 해석을 분석에 적극적으로 도입하여 선행연구와 차별화를 시도 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 맞벌이 부부에 대한 실증적 자료를 활용하여 결혼만족도를 설명할 수 있는 세 가지 주요 모델?경제적 자원 모델, 성 역할 모델, 그리고 관계성 모델?각각을 다변량 분석하고 결과를 비교하였다.
분석결과 결혼만족은 경제적 자본이라는 객관적 상황만이 아니라 성에 따라 달리 적용되는 성역할관, 상대방을 이해할 수 있는 기반으로서 관계성이나 의사소통이라는 과정적이고 맥락적 요소를 모두 포함한 관계성 모델에 의해 가장 효과적으로 설명된다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This article examines key theoretical advances that have emerged in the study of marital satisfaction during the last decade, with special emphasis on (1) the change of the social context of marriage, including the increase of women’s economic participation rate and the gender role attitude; (2) the importance of the couple than the individual as the unit of analysis; and (3) the interpersonal processes in married couple, including the degree of mutual communication and last experience of fighting. This study tests and evaluates the three competing models, that is the resource model, the gender-role model, and the process model. Data which were collected via survey from 1145 married two-earner couples were analyzed by the method of multivariate analysis. It was found that the best of the three models is the process model, which indicates the importance of the degree of communication and the quality of relationship of the couple to explain the marital satisfaction.
