The purpose of teaching history is to help children develope an awareness and under- standing of the past In this point of view, History has a crucial specific role to play be-cause It is scarcely possible to understand a practical present problem without a knowledge of its background and development. It is this that indicates the importance of History in Primary Education.
A version of the past has already affected every child by the tune he enters school Without teaching history, there will be noting to monitor the development of the frame-work within which he will come to see the world, and the problem of adult misconception will be perpetuated
As n all teaching, teacher's task is to make understanding of the past interesting, exiting and enjoyable To archive this Teachers need to Historical knowledge and Historical methodology
But primary school teachers met with widespread typification in teaching History In Social Studies Carricurirm The reason why they just do not know enough history and doubt their ability to be enthusiastic about it The solution for teacher is to make history reverent and interesting
