This study aimed to develop the learning program that could enhance the self-esteem of secondary school students. In developing the program, the following previous researches and related programs were reviewed : Burns's(1993) program(Ten Days to Self-esteem): Oh and Kim's program(1987): researches by Kim and Chang(1999), Kim(1999), and Nam(1999) that tested the effects of Burns's program.
The self-esteem enhancement program developed in this study had some features as follows: First, the program was developed on the base of cognitive approach(Ellis's REBT theory). Secondly, the program was composed of ten sessios(two hours per session). Third, the program would be more effective in group learning situation than individual learning situation. Fourth, the program would be applicable to natural class setting including 40 students or more.
