Change is everywhere, and social work education cannot be an exception. As social work education closed the 20thcentury, a number of important issues require systematic thought, reflection, and action. They include the need to identify more explicitly the domain of professional social work practice, to develop a refined base of knowledge and skills in the profession, and to encourage social workers more commitment to involvement in the community and social change.
Social work is a labor-intensive profession. The quality of social services totally depends on the professional knowledge and skills of social workers. Therefore, it is very important to retrain the workers on the job. To make the retraining program effective, it apply the adult learning principles, a variety of teaching methods are used including on-line teaching, and supportive system inside and outside the social service organization should be equipped with.
