This study was intended to grope a direction of ethics in qualitative research. At first, the basic orientation of ethics in qualitative research was posed in terms of relational mode between researcher and research participant. The relational mode means that there is no such a person who needs protection and support from researcher. In other words, research participants themselves as well as researcher are at the position of initiating and guiding research. Second, the issues in ethics of qualitative research were posed and discussed on the basis of conceptual framework of qualitative research. The issues of informed consent, deception, confidentiality, reciprocity, sufficiency of research report were dealt with within the interactional and constructivist perspective of qualitative research paradigm. For example, the informed consent is almost impossible to obtain before entering the field and collecting data because the nature and procedure of qualitative research is open to change until the research is done. Therefore the ethical issues of qualitative research need to be approached in terms of respective paradigm. As a conclusionary remark, the search for common good of both researcher and research participant was suggested.
