The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of preschoolers' experience of attending private institutes on elementary school students' academic self-concept, study-habit, relationship with teachers and friends, and interests about the subjects.
In conclusion, the duration and experience of attending private institutes did not affect the affective traits of elementary students. However, the type of institutes and subjets influenced the elementary school students affective traits. Especially, students attended musical institute showed more interest and confidence in music compared to other subjects. However, the students attended Korean language institute showed less interest and confidence in Korean language compared to other subjects.
