Manageres and scientistics alike have a vested interest in understanding how job characteristics related to individual productivity and job satisfaction.
Development of this interest has been hampered, however, by the lack of a theoretical basis and validity of instruments for the measurement of job characteristics.
The purpose of this study is to (a) discuss the measurement problems of job characteristics, (b) evaluate the reliability and validity of the instruments, (c) explore the convergent validity and discriminant validity of job design and(d) present implication, revision, and directions for future JCM research
