Korean Version of Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE-K) was administered in 65 healthy controls, 39 patients with functional mental disorders, and 53 dementia patients. Their ages were 60 or more in years. No MMSE-K score difference was found between healthy controls and functional mental disorder patients and they were grouped as the non-demented. The demented group showed significantly lower scores than the demented group. Following analyses of diagnostic sensitivity and specificity at various cut-off points, we propose three possible diagnostic criteria by MMSE-K as follow : 'definite dementia(??)', 'definite non-dementia(??)', and 'questionable dementia(20-23).
