사회과 교사자질에 대한 CBTE적 접근 = An Analysis of Social Studies Teacher Competencies in CBTE

국문 초록 (Abstract)

교사자질의 내용들은 예비교사들이 교사가 되기 위해 준비하는 과정에서 중요한 준거지침이 될 뿐만 아니라, 교원을 양성하는 대학의 교육과정의 방향성 제시에도 매우 중요하다. 그럼에도 불구하고 지금까지 사회과 교사자질에 대한 연구는 국내외를 막론하고 그다지 흔치 않다.
본 논문은 사회과 교사자질 연구의 토대가 된 사회과 CBTE의 제시·분석을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 필자는 지금까지 교사자질 연구의 경향 변화와, CBTE 접근 방법·교육학자들에 의한 CBTE 연구들을 먼저 살펴보고, 그 다음으로 사회과 CBTE 연구 사례인 NCSS의 「사회과 교사를 위한 준거기준」과 뉴욕주의 「사회과 교사자질」에 대해 분석함으로써 사회과 교사자질의 내용과 사회과 CBTE 연구의 의의를 제시해 보고자 한다. 나아가서 이상의 연구를 바탕으로 현 시점의 교육개혁 논의에서 교사자질에 대한 체계적 연구의 필요성을 제기하고자 하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to analyze social studies teacher competencies. It is not easy to find papers on CBTE, especially in social studies, in Korea. This 'paper specifically deals with the following four points:
First, the history of teacher education proposals is traced from CBTE in the 60's, to Shulman s proposal and to Schori s recent theory of reflective practitioner. Also it is insisted that both Shulman and Schon succeed a basic idea of CBTE rather than criticize it..
Second, some general characteristics of CBTE approach are discussed. Also are discussed some of the CBTE examples by Oliva, Henson, Allen & Ryan, and the Florida State Department of Education.
Third, more specifically in the area of social studies teacher education, the NCSS standards for social studies teachers and social studies teacher competencies of the New York State Department of Education are discussed.
And fourth, is appended the New York State's social studies teacher competences, a specific example of CBTE in social studies.
