In this thesis I studied the German waste disposal act of 1994 to make some suggestions for revision of ours. The main characteristics of the German act are as follows. Above all it defined the concept of waste very clearly. It has long been required to adjust to the level of european community. Secondly, the order of waste management is consolidated. Waste must be avoided at the first place, and if it can not be avoided it must be reused. The reuse can happen in the form of material or energy. Thirdly, it is made clear that those who produce the goods must have the ultimate responsibility of the wastes derivate from them. They should consider the environmental impact of the product and collect the garbage such as packages, cans and bottles. This obligation may be entrusted to a third person. The company built for this purpose is the Duales System Deutschland. By comparing to the German waste disposal act, it is found that the Korean act has some regulations to be supplemented. Waste disposal has become very important for the protection of our environment. In the present waste disposal cannot be separated from production itself. It should be treated as an indispensable part of the whole industry. This is what the German waste disposal act of 1994 means. In conclusion, the Korean waste disposal act should be revised for above mentioned reasons and the German example can be a good reference.
