This study identifies characteristics found in a project study in terms of analysing it qualitatively at an elementary school class and investigates the effects that a project can have on both achieving a learning objective and evaluation method at a national level. A learning experience using project study on How can a water be clean? for a semester could be considered to be an attempt to develop and guide an integrated curriculum. This study found the following three key points. First, project study method characterized emergent curriculum has been found to include children`s interests and opinion determining an education purposes, contents, and methods etc. Second, teacher`s intervention and supporting role for creating an environment have been found to affect critically an overall project. Finally, an observation of children`s activities in the process of project study and the application of informal evaluation method centered on children`s implementation are found to help an in-depth concept learning and to be effective in achieving national standards at the same time.
