수월성 추구를 위한 교육 = Excellence in Education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The study defined the term excellence in education which we should pursue for the 21st century as discovery and development of individual`s potential talents and pursuit of global morality and ethics. Also the study suggested a Korean educational system in terms of social system and direcitons of Korean educational problems. The relatedness and consistency of educational goals, curriculum, college/university admission procedures were very important. For the achivement of this purpose, theacher preparation/in-service education policy, sufficient educational budget, roles of central and local governments and social norms/values were important factors, too. In conclusion, for the pursuit of excellence in Korean education, the concept of excellence in education should be defined clearly, and then on the basis of this consensus long-rerm educational policy should be made. Especially, the architectonic approach is necessary for the solutions of Korean educational problems, in another words, the mutual relatedness and closeness of school, home, society and government are imperative for the improvement of Korean education.
