유아교육기관에 통합되어 있는 주의력결핍 과잉행동 유아의 행동문제와 사회적 기술에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Behavior Problems and Social Skills of Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in Kindergarten

This study analyzes some of the behavior problems and social skills of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD) in kindergarten in order to provide basic data for early intervention programs. The subjects were 52 children with ADHD of 1026 children aged 3-5 in kindergarten. The results are as follows: First, the prevalence of children with ADHD is 5.07%. Second, the distribution of the subjects showed the following conditions: 1) there were 4.2 times as many boys as girls in this category; 2) five-year old children belonged to another majority group(46.15%); and 3) the eldest children in their families constituted 51.92% of the group. Third, aggression was the most distinctive of their behavior problems(24.41%), and other major behavior problems were inattention, hyperactivity, impulsion and oppositional defiant. Fourth, most of the subjects gained lower scores on the social skill rating scales, and they scored the lowest points especially in the social skills sub-area, self-control. These research results will contribute to preparing fundamental data for early intervention programs for children with ADHD.
