The purpose of this study is to develop a group counseling program for a person who want to actualize his or her potentiality and to show his or her fully function through self-understanding, self-acceptance, self-disclosure, and self-assertiveness.This program is consists of seven parts: (1) the purpose of this program, (2) theories of personal growth, (3) theories of group counseling, (4) structure of this program, (5) evaluation of this program, (7) personal growth program. The personal growth program is consists of thirteen sessions. There are four parts in each session: introduction and purpose of each session, activity to achieve the purpose of each session, discussion and evaluation of each session, and leader's activities and regards. Thirteen sessions of the personal growth program are:
1. orientation of this program, self-introduction of group members and establishing trustful relationship of group members
2. training for effective communication
3. differences of my circumference and your circunference
4. differences of you and I
5. my irrational thinking
6. my selection and my responsibility
7. The gold is the gold, the stone is the stone.
8. positive self-disclosure
9. negative self-disclosure
10. positive self-assertiveness
11. negative self-assertiveness
12. I and death
13. self-potentiality and self-actualization
This personal growth program may come into effect to persons who are trained 2 hours a week for 13 weeks by group training procedure. Group members help each other using group counseling techniques (for example, warmth, empathic understanding, self-disclosure, feedback, and confrontation) .
