This study aima to investigate the cognitive conception of emotion, especially based on Peter`s theory and its implication for education. The conclusions are as follows. Emotive situations arise from mind`s intention towards objects and events with certain characteristies. Emotions must contain cognitive cores because intentions accompany understanding or appraisal of content including feeling. Though emotions may be overwhelmed by passivity, they can be considered results of intuitive judgment. Also some emotions may be conducive to moral development. Peters puts emphasis on emotive education through learning rational rules and principles. Whether emotions may be rational or not depends on the rationality of appraisal. But emotive education based on rationality may disregard feeling side and affective domain of human perception.
