노인의 성격유형, 자아통합감과 노화에 대한 지각과의 관계 연구 = A study on the Relationship among personal types, Ego integrity and perception of aging in the Elderly

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study was carried out to measure the degree of personality type, ego ingegrity and perception of aging in the elderly and to identity the relationship among personality type, ego integrity and perception of aging.
The subject were aged people who were over 60 years old and consisted of 119 elderly, living in Sunchun and Yusu area.
Data was collected by using questionnairs which consisted of 84 questions from NOV.1, to NOV. 25, 1997.
The instruments on used for this study were the personality types Scale developed by shanan, the ego integrity developed by Kim, Jung Soon. The measurement scale on perception of aging was adopted secord and Jourads Body Cathexies Scale and Osgood's Sementic Differential Scale, which is translated by Lee, Young Hee.
The data were analyzed by frequency percentage, t-test, one-say ANOVA, Scheffe test and pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression with spss program.
The results are as follows:
1. The major personality types was the Active Integrated Coper, the Second ranking was the Dependent passive Coper, the third ranking was the Failing Over Coper and the last was the Self-Negating Under Coper.
2. Personality Types were significantly different in the health Status (F=15.584, p=0.016).
3. All of personal characteristics were significantly related to the level of ego integrity : sex(T=10.277, p=0.002), age(F=2.839, p=0.019), degree of education (F=4.393, p=0.001), religion(F=.0484, p=0.010), growth area(F=10.537, p=0.000), ex-occupation(F=7.478, p=0.000), perception of health (F=11.616, p=0.000).
4. All of personal characteristics were significantly related to the level of perception of aging : sex(T=8.028, p=0.005), ex-occupation (F=2.275, p=0.053), perception of health(F=17.747, p=0.001).
5. Personality type was significantly relationship with ego integrity and perception of aging.
