家族關係에 대한 夫婦의 價値意識과 結婚滿足度에 관한 硏究 = A Study on the Changes of Family Values and Marital Satisfaction

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to clarify the effects of family values on marital satisfaction. Fox this purpose, a questionaire was developed and administrated to 448 husbands and 668 wives.
The marital satisfaction scale was developed basing upon the Scales of Roach et. al., and Spanier, and the family value scale was constructed of 9 subareas.
The frequency distribution, percentile, t-test, analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation, multiple regression analysis were used for data analysis and the results are as follows:
1. The Changes of Family Values
There are area variations in the process of family value change and this reveals Korean family maintains traditional patriarchal value internally, while showing modernity in external aspects.
There is a significant difference in the changing degree of family values according to the variables such as sex, living area, age, family income, education, religion, but family type and wife's employment have no significant influence.
2. The family Values and Marital Satisfaction
Husbands are more satisfied with their marital life than wives. A husband tends to be more satisfied when he has modern attitude toward supporting older parents.
A wife tends to be more satisfied when she has traditional sex role attitude, patrilineal kinship oriented attitude, and modern mate selection attitude.
3. Socio-economic Variables and Marital Satisfaction
Living area, family income, wife's employment, education have great influences on the marital satisfaction of husbands and wives.
Religion has some influences on the husband's marital satisfaction, and family life cycle influences on the wives marital satisfaction, but family type has no significant influence. Interaction between family values and socio-economic variables is not found.
