한국 여성의 정신건강에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Korean Women's Mental Health

Mental health is very important variable in contemporary. The purpose of this study is to analyze the differencial aspects of Korean women's mental health.
The subjects of the study were 752 women in Seoul and Kungki-do area, 453 women of the subjects are twenties, another 165women are thirties, and the other 134 women are forties.
The instruments measuring mental health in this study were Symptom Check List-90-Revision(SCL-90-R) by Derogatis et al. which is standardized by Kim, Kwang-Iel., Ph.D. & Won, Ho-Taek, Ph.D. in Korea(1984). This is measures of 9 symptom dimension (somatization, obsessive-compulsive, inter-personal sensitivity, depression, anxiety. hostility, phobic anxiety, paranoid. psychoticism).
The concrete purposes of this study are as follows:
1)to analyze the total aspects of the Korean women's mental health
2)to analyze the diffencial aspects between higher and lower age of Korean women's mental health
3)to analyze the dimensional aspects of Korean women's mental health
Conclusionally, the results of this study shows multitudinous aspects of Korean women's mental health.
This study can be concluded as follows;
First, Dimensional symtoms of mental health of total women are in the order of depression (M =1.12), obssesive-compulsive(M=1.01), and somatization(M=0.81).
Second, The difference in age of dimensional symtom of mental health is that depression is high in the twenties(M=1.31), in the thirties(M=.088) and somatization is high in the forties (M-0.79).
Third, Items of dimensional aspects in total ages are in the order of $quot;do not have a good menory $quot; on obssesive-compulsive, $quot;very sensitive and unstable$quot; on anxiety and $quot;worry about everything$quot; on depression.
Above results of this study show that the mental health level of the Korean women is not in danger yet but the Korean women have Considerable conflict and stress in personal, family and social problem related with sex-role.
