다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract) kakao i 다국어 번역

This study explored the experience and essential meanings of Tao psychotherapy-based open studio group art therapy for the self-care of school counselors. Five school counselors participated in 12 therapy sessions (32 hours total) in a marathon format over four days at the seminar room of the Region A Education Research and Information Center. A certified art therapist facilitated all sessions. Data were collected from the researcher’s observation during group art therapy sessions from July to September 2023. This Included session transcripts, individual in-depth interviews, participants’ experience reports, artworks, activity photographs, and the researcher’s field notes along with reflective response works. The study adopted Max van Manen’s hermeneutic phenomenological approach. There were four core experiential themes emerged: (1) School counselors responded to the invitation of their self-care; (2) Encountering the open self in the open studio; (3) Fluid transformation of images occurred; (4) The group art therapy became a vessel to contain relationships. Four essential themes of meaning were identified: (1) Presence was the beginning of self-care; (2) Creative engagement with art was spring (renewal); (3) Deepening authenticity in interactions with students; (4) Deep empathy for colleagues as a healing journey. This study provided valuable foundational data for art therapy interventions that could offer practical mental health support for school counselors.
