조선 후기 대구와 인접 군현간 교통로 복원 - ｢여지도서(輿地圖書)｣와 ｢대동여지도(大東輿地圖)｣의 교통정보를 중심으로 = Reconstruction of Transportation Routes between Daegu and Neighboring Counties in the late Joseon Dynasty using the Yeojidoseo(輿地圖書) and the Daedongyeojido(大東輿地圖)

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 군현을 연결하는 지역간 교통로 복원을 위한 방법론을 제시하시는 것이 목적이다. 이를 위해 18세기 중반~19세기 중반의 경상도 대구와 인접 군현을 예로 교통로를 복원하였다. 연구는 세 단계로 진행되었다. 첫째, 조선시대 대구의 행정 경계를 지형 특성과 교통 연결성 관점에서 분석했다. 둘째, ｢여지도서(輿地圖書)｣의 사방경계(四方境界) 및 도로조와 ｢대동여지도(大1東輿地圖)｣에 그려진 도로를 비교 분석하고 대구와 인접 군현을 연결하는 교통로를 네 가지 유형으로 재구성하였다. 셋째, 역사 GIS 방법론에 기반해 대구와 인접한 14개 군현의 17개 경로를 각각 복원하였다. 본고에서 제안한 군현간 교통로 복원 방법론은 ｢여지도서｣의 사방경계와 도로조의 교통정보 조합과 ｢대동여지도｣를 통한 경로 검증이 핵심이다. 두 문헌상의 경로 불일치는 편찬 시기에 따른 차이라기보다는, 텍스트와 지도라는 매체의 특성과 선형 정보의 텍스트 표현의 한계에서 그 원인을 찾을 수 있다. 또한, ｢여지도서｣의 도로조는 인접한 군현간 교통정보가 불일치한다는 문제가 있으며 사방경계 기록의 연장선이라는 한계가 있었다. ｢대동여지도｣는 여러 경로의 중첩으로 발생한 교차점 해석의 모호함이 있고, 직선형 도로 표현에 따른 경유지의 위치 해석의 문제가 있었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to present a methodology for restoring regional transportation routes between counties. To this end, we reconstructed transportation routes between Daegu, Gyeongsangnam-do, and neighboring counties in the mid-18th and mid-19th centuries. The research was conducted in three stages. First, the administrative boundaries of Daegu were analyzed based on topographical characteristics. Second, we compared and analyzed the road of the Yeojidoseo(輿地圖書) and the transportation network of the Daedongyeojido(大東輿地圖), and reconstructed the regional road network centered on Daegu into four types. Third, 17 routes in 14 counties adjacent to Daegu were reconstructed using historical GIS methodology. The transportation route between counties reconstruction methodology proposed in this paper is a combination of the road of the Yeojidoseo and verification through the Daedongyeojido. The discrepancies between the routes in the two texts are not due to differences in the time periods in which they were compiled, but rather to the characteristics of the respective mediums of text and map and the limitations of textual representation of linear information. In addition, the road of the Yeojidoseo had the limitations of inconsistency with the road information of neighboring counties and being an extension of the sabang-gyeonggye(四方境界), and the Daedongyeojido had the difficulty of interpreting the intersection points caused by the overlapping of multiple routes.
