In this study, indicators and methods for quantitatively evaluating content validity(CV) in physical education research are introduced. In the meantime, CV has tended to be misused as an easy verification method in physical education research. In particular, a method for quantitatively verifying CV has not been well introduced to researchers. Representative CV indicators include CVR(content validity ratio) and CVI(content validity index), which were developed by Lawshe(1976) and Lynn(1986), respectively. The use of these indicators is becoming more common in academic fields that require quantitative evidence to validate test tools. In this study, in order to use the CV indicators for the purpose of deleting and supplementing items, it is recommended to proceed by dividing the preliminary test tool development stage and the quantitative judgment stage. CV indicators can be easily calculated by researchers, but in order to conduct quantitative verification of these indicators CVs in advance, researchers need knowledge of the process from professional questionnaire development to expert selection, content validation review, and CV statistics calculation.
