연천 삼거리에서 발견된 르발루아 몸돌의 연구 예보 = Preliminary Report on the Levallois Core Discovered at the Samgeo-ri Paleolithic Site in Yeoncheon, South Korea

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

A Levallois core was unearthed at the lower Paleolithic level of the Samgeo-ri site in Yeoncheon which was recently excavated. The cultural layer dated at 44.6-40.4 ka cal BP belongs to the late Middle Paleolithic period. This core was classified as Levallois recurrent centripetal core according to the Levallois concept criteria and the morpho-technological characteristics of core. After the Paleolithic sites were discovered in Gulpo-ri and Seokjang-ni in the early 1960s, the Levallois core, which was the first of its kind to be identified in South Korea, will contribute to the systematic division of the Paleolithic period and allow for the transition from the middle to the late Paleolithic period to be viewed from a new perspective.
